BS Accounting & Finance
A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting and Finance is an undergraduate program that aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and business management. The program is designed specifically for students who are interested in pursuing a career in accounting, finance, and other related fields. The curriculum generally consists of a combination of courses in accounting, finance, economics, business, and general education.
What is BS Accounting & Finance ?
The Bachelor's degree program in Accounting and Finance is a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the principles, theories, and practices of accounting and financial management. The program aims to equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to excel in the rapidly changing global business and financial landscape.
Through a combination of classroom lectures, case studies, and experiential learning opportunities, students develop a strong foundation in financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, auditing, financial analysis, and investments. The program also emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, preparing students to become effective leaders and decision-makers in the field of accounting and finance.
Upon graduation, students are equipped to pursue a variety of entry-level positions in accounting and financial management, including financial analyst, accountant, auditor, tax specialist, and financial advisor. Additionally, the program provides a solid foundation for further graduate-level studies in accounting, finance, or related fields, for those who seek to pursue advanced careers in the field.
Eligibility :
Intermediate (equivalent to 12 years of education) with at least 45% marks.
Duration :
It is a four-year full-time program that is divided into eight semesters. Each semester lasts for at least 18 weeks, which includes teaching and exams.

- To make students able to understand and develop the skills to grasp broad range of accounting and finance techniques and concepts.
- To make them able to critically analyze and compare the theoretical knowledge with the practical aspects.
- To provide the knowledge and skills to students for using computer technology in accounting and finance for the purpose of improving decision making in an organization setting.
- To provide an opportunity for students to evaluate problems and innovations in accounting and finance with effects on managerial decision making.
- To make them able to apply integrated techniques of accounting and finance in evaluating the costs and benefits of strategic investments.
- To make them able to understand the applications and effects of international accounting standards and financial reporting in an organization setting.
- To develop the understanding about ethical issues in accounting and finance.
Assessment of Study Progress:
The evaluation of students' progress in their studies is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester. This is achieved through various methods such as assignments, online quizzes, Graded Moderated Discussion Board (GDB), mid-term and final-term exams. The mid and final term exams are conducted at designated exam centers of AIMS International Virtual University (AIVU) and usually account for 80 to 85% of the total marks for a course.
